about
I wrote this a few days after Hurricane Katrina. I tried to take something from it and turn it into music.
lyrics
new leaves fall from the apple tree
time goes on but i still can't believe
that something so good could be gone
calling out, but i hear no reply
this creole town has a tear in its eye
but i won't be crying for long
everywhere i go, i know that you're here with me
everything i see is telling me somebody's waiting for me
waiting for me
"what's your name?", came a voice from above
i said, "we're all the same when you lose what you love"
and lord knows that i've needed a friend
sixteen days since the rain set in
sixteen days, wondering 'where have you been?'
but i know that i'll see you again
everywhere i go, i know that you're here with me
everything i see is telling me somebody's waiting for me
waiting for me, waiting for me...
everywhere i go, i know that you're here with me
everything i see is telling me somebody's waiting for me
every word i say, i know that you're hearing me
every second of the day, oh i know that somebody's waiting for me
waiting for me, waiting for me
